OEM RSX Paint Codes: A Comprehensive Guide

The Acura RSX came in several different colors depending on the year and trim level. This is my guide, along with pictures to help you identify if your RSX is an OEM color, and where to get touch-up paint if you want to repair your car's paint, or even match your RSX to another car, motorcycle, or something around the house. Maybe even use it to match a body kit or wing to the car.

How To Choose A Paint

Paint pens are great for a low-effort rock chip repair. Just wipe the surface with some isopropyl alcohol, shake the pen, and fill in the chips. They come in both 1 and 2 step sets with separate paint and clear coat. The 2 pen sets can be nicer.

Paint bottles are just that: bottles of paint, that normally come with paintbrushes. You'll normally get a primer and base coat, and sometimes a separate clear coat in a 3 step system. Just prep with isopropyl alcohol and follow the instructions. Paint bottles are really the best solution for most people. It's the strongest and best quality repair method for scratches and rock chips.

Spray paint is a great way to make large scratches, mismatched panels, unpainted mods, and big blemishes a thing of the past. After lightly sanding the panel you want to repair and masking off anything you don't want to paint, usually there's a separate primer and base coat, sometimes with a separate clear coat. With the right prep work and finishing work, these jobs can look as good as new.
